Welcome to Loosethreds Creative — a place where worn-in fabrics are given new life, and creativity is stitched with purpose, patience, and heart.
I’m Kim, a retired educator turned maker, storyteller, and lover of all things cozy, handmade, and meaningful. After years of pouring into others, I found deep joy in slowing down, working with my hands, and creating pieces that feel like home. What began as a love for sewing and vintage textiles has grown into a calling to restore, repurpose, and reimagine fabrics that still have beautiful stories to tell.
Some of my earliest memories of creating are rooted in time spent with my grandmother, watching her create beautiful things to sew and make do with what she had. She taught me that fabric holds stories, that nothing beautiful should be wasted, and that there is quiet joy in working with your hands. Those moments planted a love for stitching, patience, and creativity that still shapes everything I make today.
Many of my creations are made from vintage quilts — textiles that once warmed families, celebrated milestones, and carried memories. Each piece shows gentle signs of its past life, and I consider that part of its beauty. My goal is to honor those stories while creating something new: pillows, keepsakes, gifts, and home décor that feel comforting, familiar, and full of heart.
Alongside these heirloom pieces, I also create new handmade items inspired by farmhouse simplicity and timeless design. Every stitch is done with care, intention, and gratitude for the ability to create.
The name Loosethreds speaks to more than fabric. It represents the small, often unnoticed threads in our lives that, when gathered together, form something meaningful and strong. I believe creativity is a gift, restoration is powerful, and beauty can be found in what the world might otherwise overlook.
It is my hope that when you bring a Loosethreds Creative piece into your home, you feel warmth, peace, and a sense of connection — not just to the item itself, but to the hands and heart that made it.
Thank you for being here and for supporting handmade. May your home be filled with comfort, creativity, and gentle reminders of grace.
With gratitude,
Kim
